Lucy was a "natural" for animal therapy

Lucy, an AKC registered Australian Shepherd, was born July 24, 2004. Little is known about her first family except that health problems led them to give up Lucy to a rescue group. Nancy and Raul adopted Lucy when she was 3 years old. She successfully completed many obedience classes, earned the Canine Good Citizenship certificate, and with Nancy passed the evaluation to become a registered Pet Partners animal therapy team. LucyÃÃâ,Ãâ"Ãs intelligence, love for people and desire to please made her a natural for animal assisted activity. For six years Nancy and Lucy brought puppy love to individuals in skilled nursing care and students preparing for exams. They also advocated for animal therapy at health fairs, Girl Scout meetings, nursing classes and other organizations. With her prancing step and quick smile, Lucy was always the center of attention. On October 29, 2017, we said good-bye to this sweet, loving, happy girl. Lucy, may God bless and keep you, now and forever. .
