Hollywood
Hollywood was a funny dog.
She lived the first 4 years of her life in a medical lab. She was treated very well and the staff always tried to find good homes for the dogs. We adopted her, gave her a companion, a large yard and love for the remainder of her life. She experienced many things for the first time: grass, TV, airplanes, walks in the neighborhood, laying in the sun for hours.
It took time for her to learn to be a dog. After several months, she realized that this was her house too and she should howl along with our other dog when the mailman came on the porch--what a racket! She never quite got the hang of car rides; we picked her up and put her into the back seat and she eventually enjoyed where we ended up. She never was bothered by fireworks or fire engines or things that upset other dogs, but her tags banging her food bowl made her jump!
As difficult as she was, she was part of our family and will be missed.
