Bailey - Feb. 11, 2003 - Feb. 5, 2013
Bailey - The Love of our Lives, Our Therapy Dog. She always knew when we didn't feel well. She would plop down right next to wherever we were. On a chair or couch. She was there.
We ordered 2 Papillon Sisters and waited 9 weeks after they were born to get them. They were so small they fit in our palms. Precious little girls Bailey & Chloe. Never Apart. They slept on our bed every night. Last year Bailey started getting Incontenance .. We just put diapers on her for bed..The past couple months she has been leaking just sitting on our laps. We were taking the girls to Animal Inns & stopped into see Dr. Mark Malo before. I made a joke saying is there something that can be done for her leakage? He said there are pills. They will do Blood Work to see if anything Serious. We were called next day by Dr. Cork saying Bailey is in Kidney Failure. We could not believe it. She didn't act sick. Still ate and drank her water. They were going to put her on IV's to see if that helped. 4 days later. Her Levels went down but not enough. She was now going to be on prescription Wet / Dry Renal Food Rest of her Life. They were going to teach us how to insert drips in her to keep hydrated later. We brought the girls back 3 weeks later. We booked a cruise 14 months ago. We dropped them off Jan 24-Feb 5 ..We were called everyday by Dr. Cork while we were on land for updates. Levels were high but she was doing good. We got home late Feb.4 . 7:30am phone rang Feb 5 ..Bailey was not feeling good at the Inn so next door again she was going. We got up and drove to pick them up. Bailey came out so skinny but Happy to see us. Chloe we picked up next door at the Inn. We drove home just thinking when Bailey gets home she will be good. She just laced on our laps all day..she wouldn't eat or drink. I fed her water through a straw..She started throwing up bile with a little blood. Then it was getting worse each time...less bile more blood...What was going on ? ..she got to the point where she couldn't even lift her head...after we wiped her off I lifted her up in my arms to cuddle her. Her head shot straight up in the air and she took 2 big gulps of air...and went stiff...I screamed No Bailey, You can't die in my arms. Donna ran out to take her from me.She said she's still with us...Her hearts beating...but she was gone...she was looking at us ..The tip of her tongue stuck out like when she was a puppy...She left as she came to us..Precious , Loving and 6 days shy of her 10th Birthday with Chloe..We had No Clue when we picked them up in the a.m. Bailey would be dead by night. We are just so thankful she WAITED for us..,She knew we were coming to get her and held on..We couldn't have handled if we didn't get to see her while on our cruise .We were crushed and still are..Almost 3 weeks without her. Chloe looks for her always. We have her ashes on our mantle in a doggy urn. WE LOVE and MISS YOU BAILEY..
