When our kids were very young, we wanted to get two kittens to keep each other company and not bother our very old cat. Each kid would get to help pick out a kitten and the family would vote on the choices. We went to a shelter, where Geneva immediately fell in love with a beautiful diluted calico who was very calm and loving. We named her Chibi. We adopted another kitten the same weekend. Chibi turned out to be the most mellow and sweet cat we ever had. She became a therapy cat at the age of 6, with Geneva as her partner, but developed kidney disease after a year and had to retire. Even with all her health issues, she maintained her sweet, calm personality. We have had cats before her, and cats after her, and she was one of a kind, the Best Cat Ever.
