Our Mama dog

In December 2009, we got Missy from the shelter two days before she was to be put down. Her bio said the previous owner bred her and dropped her off at the shelter on her 4th Birthday. The shelter spayed her but she looked so undesirable and no one wanted her. The sign on her kennel said HATES CATS. We had five but we still took her in. I woke up at 5 am everyday and walked her. We had a great routine that we stuck to. In a months time, this dog that previously lived in a backyard acclimated to our sofa and melted our hearts. She loved every human that she came across. She never cared for other dogs but she became a great big sister in 2011 to our skittish rescue, Chewie. He leaned on her for everything. Missy May brought great joy to the kids. When Chris left for boot camp, she looked for him. When Liann left for college, she looked at me with confusion. There was no one she loved more than her daddy, Andy. She waited for him at the exact same time by the patio door. He gave her anything that she wanted. We cared for our precious baby even more so her last few months of illness. We held her at home when she took her last breath. Nothing will replace that piece of our hearts but someday we will honor her and take in another mama dog that no one else wants. Missy showed us love and loyalty. Now she is an angel watching over us. 2005-2016 We love you mama dog.
