Willie

Willie was a special dog and it has been very hard for me to deal with losing him. He loved his morning and evening walks. It was a special time we shared together. Willie was kind and gentle to every living thing. When we walked together, people would comment to me about what a handsome and well-mannered dog he was and what a great singer he was. Anyone could just say, †sing Willie†and he would sing to them. He also sang whenever he heard a fire engine or police car with the siren on. Willie was born on September 4, 1999. His owner was a doctor in Mesa, Arizona who breeds Greyhounds for racing. Willie†s registered name was †Doc†s Willwin†. I am not sure how long his racing career was but I am sure he was good and won many races. We adopted Willie from Hemopet. Hemopet rescues greyhounds and keeps them for a year or two as blood donors then puts them up for adoption. Willie was the third greyhound we have adopted from Hemopet. We miss Willie and he will always be in our hearts. We really appreciate Dr. Grimes, Tracy and Grandma Sunny†s donations in his memory to the Animal Health Foundation. The Animal Health Foundation does so many great projects such as the Guardian Angel Program, the PetPartners and Read Programs and the Disaster Relief Fund. The foundation helps many people and animals. - Mary Glassberg
