R.I.P. Somerset Hugo aka Hugie, Hugo Bossa Nova, Hugie Doo, Hugo Bean. 4-13-1998 to 2-18-2014. Our beloved boy would have been 16 today (April 15, 2014). Altho he put up a valiant fight, he didn't make it. Hugo danced to his own tune - I called him the Frank Sinatra of dogs. He stunk at earth dog because he wouldn't come out of the tunnel thinking the rats would return. He amazed us by being focused enough to do well at agility, but I stunk at it. Then we found our calling and he joined me as a teacher when we became a reading team for Pet Partners/AHF; READ; and Beach Animals Reading to Kids (BARK). We are grateful to those organizations for believing in his potential and giving us so much joy all those years. There's a huge hole in our hearts, and it's taken me almost 2 months to put this little tribute and album together. But we are comforted by the knowledge that this little crazy creature touched so many lives especially the children. He helped so many children, not only to learn how to read but to acquire a love for reading.
