As many of you know, Bailey was not just a pet guinea pig to me. Bailey was my companion, my baby, my comfort and my best friend. The joy and unconditional love he has given to me these past 5 years has been more than I could have ever imagined. He came into my life as an adorable white ball of fur and left it as my heart. Whether you were lucky enough to meet him and capture his adorable ways in the flesh or just saw pictures and/or videos, or heard his little squeaks/rumbles by phone, he seemed to always touch a little piece of people's hearts. He became my mascot, my sidekick. Whenever anyone asked how I was, it wouldn't just be about me. It would be "How are you and Bailey?" He was very special not just to me, but to so many people. Despite being a small animal, his spirit/character was bigger than the world. And I loved him more than the world. Although a short life span was expected of him, those who loved him are still never really ready to let go. When you love someone who touches your heart in ways nothing else could, you never do let go. I named Bailey after my favorite television character, Bailey Salinger on my favorite television show, Party of Five. I loved this character because he was caring, giving, adorable, young, innocent and although not perfect, he was full of heart. This reigned true of my Bailey as well and I know now, I couldn't have chosen a better name for such a special soul. Bailey will always live on in my memories and my heart. He stood by my side when I needed him the most. He came into my life at a time when I was just learning how to become an adult and live on my own away from family and close friends in order to chase my dreams. He became my family and now I know, I was never really alone with him. Although I am now starting a new chapter of my life without Bailey's physical presence by my side everyday, there will not be a day that goes by that I won't think of his sweet, little face that made me smile every single day. I truly believe he is popcorning and happy as can be in a better place now, and this is what helps me to get through this difficult time. I hope I can take all the love he has given to me and all the love he has taught me to give and use it to better my life, honor him and make him proud. Animals are such a precious gift to anyone lucky enough to have them. They are that beautiful light that always shines in this sometimes dark, scary world. Thank you, Bailey for being the best friend I have ever had. Thank you for showing me what true love is and for filling my heart during those empty times of sadness. Thank you for spending your life with me and thank you for loving me no matter where I went or what I did. I will love you forever. I miss you, Bub. You were and will always be my angel. ILYMTTW...
