Tasha
Tasha was a unique cat. I found her at the Irvine Pet Shelter, in 2005. I had lost a tortoiseshell cat a few years back and was looking for another. When I tried to get her attention in the small cubicle they had her in, she opened one eye slightly but gave no other sign that she was much of a "people cat". Still, I thought to give her a try in the "get acquainted" room. There, she showed her true personality. After sniffing and running around the room for awhile, she stopped by and rubbed against my legs. Then she jumped up onto one of the cat condos and sat looking at me contentedly. I took her home where she quickly became a lap cat.
Tasha had extra toes on the front and back feet so that she looked like she was walking on mittens. When she wanted attention she meowed with a high pitched voice so that her nickname became "the whiner". She was very sweet and never scratched or bit. She is very much missed.
