Mickey
Mickey was so endearing. He drew people and pets to his sweet disposition and his faithful friendship. Never a bad day, never anything but a welcoming countenance, Mickey was always waiting to love on his people. The highlight of each day of his 15 1/2 years, was being with his family. He never spent one day in a kennel and he knew where all his dog friends lived. He never expected anything and was a quiet little guy always ready to exchange hugs. He loved to push a ball with his nose and initiate a game he made up. He loved everyone he met and almost without exception, someone would say, "What a sweet dog!" Mickey lived in a family that loved him and he just exuberated that joy. He learned to play the piano with us, and took agility training classes, and watched his kids graduate from high school, learn to drive, date, go to college, get married and have grandchildren. Mickey loved it all. All of life he loved. He traveled to Maine to California,Tennessee, Michigan and Texas and loved being in the car. What I will miss the most about Mickey and I believe was his orientation towards life was that he got along with everyone and he was content in all circumstances .Each day was a new gift for him. This lesson that Mickey exemplified is a worthy one to learn. He was well cared-for and cared well for his family. I have learned from Mickey, and will focus and work harder on adopting his life's outlook that every day was another day of love.
