Jitterbug was the most special little soul. Everyone says that about their dogs, but I've had so many dogs in my life, and while every one is and was very special, Jitter's essence was unique. She had a brightness about her, a depth to her heart, that I rarely see. She left behind so many grieving people in addition to me. My co-workers knew her as the office mascot, the quiet little girl who came to work with me every day, riding in her stroller, content to sleep and dream the day away -- until someone crackled a bag or brought some chicken breast within nose reach. She brought Jitter Joy to so many people at so many facilities, and did so cheerfully. She seemed to know: When clients wanted an active dog, she'd run through her repertoire of tricks. When they were tired, dreary, uncomfortable or in pain, she would curl up next to them and doze. She went everywhere with me, and I will forever miss her smiling face, her gentle nature, her beautiful soul. Fly free, my lovely little girl. You were and will always be one of a kind.
