No better dog can be found
We received Bronco from a non-profit service dog organization, Canine Companions For Independence (CCI). He was only 10 weeks old, but full of life. We prayed that as we raised this puppy that everything about this dog would please God, even his name. We knew that CCI named all the dogs. The litter was sponsored by the Denver Broncos and all the dogs in Bronco's litter went to Colorado, except Bronco.
It was several weeks later that we spoke with the woman who watched over the birth of the litter. She said, "You have a very special dog, you know. I don't know what happened, but your dogs name was changed before they sent him to you, and that has never happened before." We asked, "What was his original name?" She said, "Buddha." We knew God was pleased with the name change.
Bronco was well known in our neighborhood since we walked him every day as we trained him. He was very obedient and very friendly to people or animals. Everyone was amazed how well behaved he was and laughed as he tried to lay on the ground just to play with very small dogs.
He served us for over 13 years before he died and we miss him more than words can explain.
We have a secret, you and I
that no one else shall know,
for who but I can see you lie
each night in moonlight glow?
And who but I can reach my hand
before we go to bed
and feel the living warmth of you
and touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths
and see beside of me,
your silky black form looking up at me,
but now you are so young again, . . .and free.
And only I can see you jump
in every brook I pass
and when I call, no one but I
can see the clouds whisking by as you pass.
