Our Dearest Chico,

In honor of your life, we will always remember the good and happy times with you throughout the years; the joy that we felt when we discovered you at the animal shelter and the way you won us over with your endearing personality. We remember the time we took you for a quick overnight getaway at the dog beach, the walks in the park, and the car rides. We hope that you enjoyed the times you stayed at the doggie camps and made new friends. We remember your love of good food like a true gourmand. We remember your hunt for the greenies on the couch every morning before you got your eye drops and the hotdog treats you demanded after going potty. We remember you rolling over the towel after a bath and having your teeth brushed at night. We remember your barks when you’re hungry or bored and your favorite squeaky toys. We understand and forgive you for the times you’ve had accidents in the kitchen and in other parts of the house because you gave us so much more in return.

We are sad that you left us but we are glad that you are free and whole again. If we have been unkind and inattentive, if we have not taken you out for walks more often than we should have, we ask for your forgiveness. We thank you for your unconditional love and companionship which you never failed to show us. Please know that we will never ever forget you and you will always be a part of our hearts and our family forever. You were our angel on earth. May you be with us as we continue on our earthly journey to guide and watch over us until we meet again in God’s Kingdom. Rest in Peace, our sweet pup. We love you, Chico.
