Guestbook for Dieter

Posted By Steve and Kathy on Sep 14 2014

Steve and I had gone to see one puppy out of about twelve from two litters. We played with all of the puppies, but the one that we went to see stayed back just watching us. After a long while we turned to leave, not sure about the one puppy. Just then he made a mad dash across the room barking and carrying on. Dieter had chosen us. We have been blessed by that decision for over 14 years. Dieter had such a strong, sweet, ornery, goofy nature. When he was a pup we tried several times to get him to go up the stairs and he just wasn't ready. Then a few days later we came home from work to discover Dieter on the 1st floor and a "gift" from Dieter on the 2nd floor. When Anya joined our family, Dieter soon found out she had "issues" but he always had ways to get her back. He'd run out the back door like there was something out there. Anya would dash out and bark only to find out it was nothing, Dieter was standing innocently on the patio and she was in trouble for barking. That trick worked a few too many times. Anya played rough and found herself many times running ears back with a dog that was 3 years her senior right on her heels because she had pushed the limits of a sweet Dieter. They were hysterical to watch. Dieter loved her, "issues" and all. When Anya was sick and not eating, Dieter picked up some of his own food and walked it over to her and carefully placed it in front of her. Dieter's sweet nature earned him many friends. He triumphed through many health issues making friends with doctors and technicians at two different hospitals. He will always be remembered for his strong, sweet, gentle "Dietery" nature.
