I miss coming down the stairs to hear you copying Vecco's signature whistle, and I will try to forget that last drive back from the vet with you lying quiet in a little box at my side. Instead, I'll remember you spreading your baby wings and showing off for the girls on your perch. Fly high Merry!

I am so sorry to hear about Merry's demise. That was one of the most beautiful birds that I had seen in a long time and it's a real shame that he didn't live long.

Thank you everybody :) He did live a very short life (not even a year!) but it was a very happy one :)

Merry, I hold you close in my heart, although we never had the chance to meet. When I peer deep into my heart I see you sitting in God's great glory adoring his most beautiful face, that face that tenderly made you with utmost care, with the gentlest of hands and which with tremendous care placed every feather, every color in your special palate in just the most perfect place. Perhaps now, you feel His most comforting warmth and realize how happy you are to be back with your creator, to gaze at the most beautiful of faces, you are filled with overwhelming emotion and burst out in beautiful song for him. Sweet little feathered adorer, remember the broken hearts you have left behind and ask Our Sweet Lord to be gentle with them. Please ask Him to give us each peace and to praise Him in joys AND sorrows, in life and in death. Please ask for the grace to overcome sorrow and look forward to everyday as a birth of new life based on all the blesseings of the past, even those that are long gone. Merry, please ask St. francis to fill Pippin with assurance that he will find another friend soon and the twinsy's with the peace of knowing you are working hard with Francis and our Lady to, with God's blessing, find the right companion and family member to fill the Castro home with joy again. Little chanter of heaven, I thank you for allowing me to see how beautiful are the hearts of my littlle nieces. It was in the splendor of your short time here, that their hearts were moved to such a depth of emotion and an outpouring of care, and I thank both you and God for allowing me to witness it. Lastly Merry, please sing a little song of love to all our past loved friends, especially, to Tom, Randy, and Kirt as well as to our beloved pets and friends: Charlie and Ivy, Rusty my beloved little companion and family protector of 9 years, to Sorrell, Sunday, and to my little Charles, my parakeet, who like you flew to heaven with pieces of our broken hearts. May God be glorified in all things, forever.

Thank you so much Aunt Bernadette! :) I know that little Merry was too adorable, special and innocent that for sure he is in heaven, chirping along with the angels! Rest in Peace little cockatiel!

R.I.P to all the other critters of the past :)

Even a while after his death, we still really miss Merry. So does his friend Pippin. So we are thinking of getting a new friend for him in a couple weeks, probably a little girl, either named Chica, Firefly, Chloe, or Lady Allura. We won't be getting a pied cockatiel like Merry because it would be hard to have one that looks like he did. We're most likely going to get a grey female baby hand-fed cockatiel from a good breeder near us. We hope that Pippin will be less lonely, though the new girl will never replace Merry. Wish us luck on our friend-finding quest! -Annalisse & Isabella & Mom

I still really miss Merry......but I know that now our sweet budgie Greenberry, who recently passed away, is keeping my little guy company.

Hi again everyone! I was watching a old video of Merry's.....and I realized I really miss his sweet little whistles. They are so different from Pippin's whistles, and I wish I could just hear them again. :,( Thanks for all your kind words everyone, and please see the new photos I've uploaded...plus, my sister has also written some more things about little Merry.

In one month, we will be celebrating Merry's life and all the happy times we had together. We'll light a candle in front of the picture frame memorial we have of him in our frame to remember the day he passed. I still miss him a lot, he can never be replaced. ~ Isabella

I also want to note that, we have finally found Pippin a friend. Percy, a male whiteface pearl pied cockatiel, has been welcomed into our family and we love him.
