Oh Bear we miss you soooo much. I look at your picture on my computer screen everyday at work and think of all the great times we had together, how you would follow me around everywhere I went.....I miss that.......I hope when I pass into the next world, you, Manny, Ginger, Willa, Muff and Twinkie will be there. We miss you so much. Thank you for the time we had with you and all the things we did , experienced and saw together. I know when I held you body after the vet's I knew it was just the shell and that your sprit will alway be with us. I love you my buddy Bear.

Just a quick note for all of your potential "adoptees" that are concerned about adopted an "older dog". In Feb of 2001 I adopted Bear. He was turned in with all of his papers, so I knew at the time he was 7 1/2. I was not concerned, as I was looking for a companion for my Manny who was the same age. When you called me you urged me come right away. You told me there are not many dogs like this in rescue. I was willing to consider perhaps there was another dog as wonderful as my Manny; but I asked for permission to bring Manny for the meeting. You graciously agreed, and the rest is history. Manny and Bear were buddies and pals. They would run and play and snuggle like they were brothers. Often when I was walking them I would be asked if they were brothers. My response was always "that is what I tell them". Manny passed over the Ranbow Bridge last Sept 11. Bear patiently waited for him in all Manny's favorites spots. Just Monday, 2 days after Bear's 17th birthday he passed over the Ranbow Bridge to join his "Brother" Manny. I will miss him. He was my snuggle Bear for over 9 years. He was beautiful to the end. The attached pictures are very recent. If ever you have someone balk about a senior, tell them about Bear. I realize not all dachshunds last to 17. But when they do it is heaven on earth. Ever dog deserves a good home and every home deserves a good dog. Bear was a very good dog. He and Manny are together again being brothers.

It has been a year Buddy. And I still feel your spirit. You were and always will be my Bear Boy. Friday has many of your loving charactaristics. It helps, esp when he lies on my chest like you used to.

Bear, 2 years ago I held you all night. I so wished you could have died in my arms. I do know you died in peace surrounded in love. My life has changed so much since you left. How is wish I had you to hold. I remember so well those nights back in 2001 as you lay on my chest as I cried. I miss you my forever Bear Boy. Sebastian and Friday both sleep in your "spot", snuggled in my arms at night. Love you Buddy!

Well Bear...another year has gone by and I still miss you as much as when you went over the Rainbow Bridge to be with your brother Manny. Yes life has changed and I miss seeing all your brothers and sisters, their wagging tails, loving faces and kissy face licks!!, I have again put your picture up on my computer to honor you for being my friend for a few precious years. I look forward to the day I get to see you and all the loving furry friends I have had over the years. Your human friend, Jim
