Paisley and I have been Pet Partners since 2007.  We like to read to children at the Upland Library and represent the Animal Health Foundation at community and county events.

These dedicated therapy dog teams braved the heat on Friday (July 20) to help the pediatric oncology patients enjoy the annual fair at Kaiser AMC.  Barbara and Cali (golden retreiver) and Jean and Annie (American Water spaniel) are AHF Caring Creatures Pet Partners.

Two young mountain gorillas in Rwanda joined forces to destroy primitive traps set by poachers after one of the snares killed a female infant gorilla. A tracker and a group of tourists witnessed the event, which officials said was the first time juveniles had been seen dismantling a snare. “Chimpanzees are always quoted as being the tool users, but I think, when the situation provides itself, gorillas are quite ingenious,” said veterinarian Mike Cranfield, executive director of the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project.

Geneva and Bonnie have been registered since 2005. She and Bonnie visit a teen shelter and go to school events.

I have been a pet partner since 2005. Bonnie and I visit Mission Hospital, senior centers, reading (she is READ certified), and school events.

The Rainbow Vet Hospital received a grant from the AHF to help Luiz Molona ad his dog Pirate, who was bitten by a neighbor’s dog.  The little terriermix is only 1 year old, but has a full life ahead of him as a result of the hospital’s help.

Originally certified as a Pet Partner in 2001 with Callie.

Callie and Meggie visit at Kaiser Irvine and Orange Coast Memorial  Fountain Valley. They also participate in the R.E.A.D. program.

I have been a pet partner since 2005. Cloud and I visit seniors and students (he is READ certified).
